Happy PuppiesWe follow Puppy Culture (ENS) protocols for raising our puppies. This has been shown to be the Gold Standard of preparing puppies for the human world. Allowing them to be confident and stable in their new home. Finnish Lapphunds are a very smart working breed. In Australia they have been put in the same show class as Border Collies, German Shepherds, Cattle Dogs and Australian Shepherds because of their working instincts & traits from their origin as a herding breed.
This does mean their version of 'Terrible Two's' usually comes at 7months - 18months of age. All Lapphunds should attend puppy preschool and we highly encourage further training/obedience school during 7-18months old to ensure their mental enrichment needs are met while also teaching them to become an enjoyable furry family member. Finnish Lapphund puppies are hard work. But they are also the sweetest most endearing breed and any Lapphund owner will tell you the hard months absolutely are worth it. |
